Minuterie

“Horror film shot, vertical, looking straight up the spiral stairwell of an old Paris apartment building at night from the ground floor: worn wooden steps, a black wrought-iron banister curling upward, cracked cream plaster. The timed hallway light clicks off and the stairwell drops into darkness; when the yellow bulbs flicker back on, a tall thin figure in a long black coat is standing motionless on the third-floor landing, leaning over the banister, looking down. Static camera, 35mm grain, deep shadows. Sound: the click of a light switch, buzzing bulbs, a creaking floorboard.
